Healthy Food Financing Initiative

The USDA estimates that 40 million people nationwide still live with inadequate access to fresh and healthy food options.

The Healthy Food Financing Initiative aims to improve access to healthy foods in underserved areas, to create and preserve quality jobs, and to revitalize low-income communities by providing technical assistance and capital to eligible fresh, healthy food retail projects to overcome the higher costs and initial barriers to entry in underserved areas.

The Healthy Food Financing Initiative is a program of the USDA. Reinvestment Fund is the National Fund Manager for the program.
